One of the beautiful things about RENT is that it tells a universal story of living for today from many different perspectives. At Wild Horse Stage Co. we acknowledge that representation matters, and if a show cannot be properly cast, it should not be produced. We commit to building a cast that is true to Jonathan Larson’s vision and reflects the diversity necessary to tell this story.

Seeking raw, quirky, interesting pop/rock singers. Seeking a very diverse cast of all gender expressions and identities, racial and ethnic identities, sizes, and abilities. The character breakdowns include gender specifications that reflect the identity of the characters as written by the playwrights. However, we strongly encourage performers with any gender expression and/or gender identity to audition for any role.

Please note: This show contains adult material and is rated R by Music Theatre International, the licensing agency. Casting will be open 18 and older (at the time of auditions), with possible exceptions, for ensemble roles only, made to 17-year-olds with written parental consent. You must bring the parental consent form with you to participate in auditions.

it is a rehearsal for the revolution."
